a non-wedding photographer photographs a wedding

i was hired almost a year ago to photograph an urban, intimate wedding.  the bride’s mom is a friend of mine and a big encouragement to me as i ventured out in to this new profession.  i’m technically not a wedding photographer.  i don’t have the equipment to shoot a large scale wedding nor have i had the training.  but kelli & amanda had faith in me.

amanda sent me her pinterest wedding board and i loved some of her intown wedding inspiration.  i only had a few minutes right after the bride and groom finished the ceremony to grab some of these street shots but they’re my favorite from the evening.  i have yet to finish even looking through all of them but here’s a quick sneak peek. congratulations amanda & adam!

i have a favor to ask ya’ll.  i’m still in the learning process with my site.  without going into too much explanation, i’d love to know if you’re having trouble viewing my images if you subscribe in any type of reader format.  i tried to tweak the sizes last week & i think those were fine.  today i’ve uploaded a gallery and would love to know how they look for you.

congratulations cameron st.clair as you’ve won the lil light o’mine scripture cards.  i will email courtney and let her know!  enjoy!

Mary - Always love your photographs. If I ever visit GA I’m going to hire you for a photo shoot. The only problem I ever have with your new site is that it is sometimes hard to read the small yellow text otherwise I’m loving the site. 🙂

Cameron St. Clair - Woohoo! Thanks for the cards, Paige! I can’t remember ever winning a give-away, so I’m thrilled to start my streak with some scripture cards 🙂 The wedding photos are stunning, and I had no problem viewing them on my very old white macbook.

Kerry - I can’t even tell you how much I LOVE the shot of him carrying her shoes. You’re a genius.

And I, too, and a non-wedding photographer. I shot one wedding for a good friend…very small, 35 guests, all family. THAT was too much pressure for me. I’ll stick with families, engagements and senior sessions, thank you very much.

Jenny - I usually read your blog from my ipod touch and sometimes your posts don’t load for me. I can see the mobile version of your site, but when I click on individual pages I just get an error. Hope that helps!

Tammie - Paige, You can now add a wedding photographer to your list of many talents. There may be just a few wedding shots but they are great ones at that. I have to say if you were doing photo’s for me I would want a few perfect ones like you take compared to many that were not perfect. Love your work/new blog. I do however have to say I have tried in thge past to use wordpess and never had much success with it.

Suzanne - Paige, you really captured
some lovely moments. I
had to laugh at the image
of the couple crossing the
street with the Bud sign
in the window behind them;
so real and SO cute.

Congrats on a job VERY
well done, my friend!

tara - I’m so curious to know what you thought about doing a wedding…
Were you as nervous as all get out, or did you feel cool and calm throughout the whole event?

You did a great job…you captured so many sweet moments. I LOVE the one of her with (I’m assuming) her mom. What I wouldn’t give to have a picture like that of me and my mom on my wedding day! Photography has come a LONG way in 16 years.

I can see the gallery just fine.
