an inspiration & an icon, at 70.

i want to introduce you to my friend carol.

i’ve known carol for a handful of years while i flutter in & out of the gym in a completely disloyal manner. carol, on the other hand, is there every morning. and always welcomes everyone with a gorgeous smile.

ya’ll carol is seventy. 70. as in seventy years old.

i’m going to give you a moment to let that sink in.

and, i’ll have you know, this is carol. her image was not edited by me & the only “work” carol has done has been that of taking care of herself with diet and exercise. & by exercise i mean she’s up there in the front row for kickboxing, zumba, pilates, bar & spin. oh yes she is. and looking fabulous in a little v-neck tshirt and black yoga pants. and that stunning smile.

what i love about carol is that clearly she’s not defined by age.  she truly is young at heart and that is evidenced in not only her appearance and wardrobe but also by her enthusiasm and lifestyle. the other day i mentioned i was so tickled about my new funky top from Free People. carol then begins to tell me she loves Free People.

ya’ll.

a few weeks ago i invited a few of my friends over, carol included, to photograph for the “lets play dress up” ecourse. carol decides to bring her Free People top to wear with her “black skinnies”. naturally. i love that carol knows that “black skinnies” are the trend. and she looks amazing. she’s blending classic with a little touch of modern & she looks amazing!

that’s how simple it is.

blending timeless fashion with something current & fun will give you a fresh, fun look. and maybe you’ll wow some ladies a little younger than you…and then they’ll write about you & crown you ” a stylish icon”…at 70!

come join me monday when my course on style begins. you can register ( for free), just go to http://jeanneoliver.ning.com/

you will find the mini course along the left hand side of the site under COURSES. there are several for you to chose from. the photography course has just begun.
click on the course you want to register for and pay. ($10)
If you don’t see the course you are looking for click “view all” under the courses for a complete list of courses.
you can view & read these at your leisure for up to 6 months! so don’t worry about trying to be “ready” on monday.
my course will include a few videos and other entries ( sorta like reading a blog). i’ll discuss the essence of style and how to incorporate accessories to add a little fun and flair to the pieces you already own. we’ll go over a few basics that are great staples in your wardrobe. i’ll also touch on how to shop for a few pieces ( such as shorts) that are best for your body type.
this course is not all about spending a lot of money & how many designers can you name. what i hope it is, is an encouragement and i hope we’ll have some fun along the way.
carol will share some of her secrets on how she looks so amazing too! believe me, whatever she’s doing, i’m hoping to follow in her footsteps the best i can.
hope you’ll join me 🙂

Peggy - Oh Paige honey, I’ve been waiting since you first mentioned this course to me, oh however many months ago. Yes… time is NOT going quick enough!! And yes I signed up practically the day it came out (hmm i may have been out of town but it was close!! ha ha!) Your friend Carol is truly an inspiration!! I love that not only does she look young but she is young at heart as well. I think that plays a big part! 🙂 I have to admit this course is one of many treats I’ve done for myself recently… you see many months ago I finally decided to get fit… for me, well kinda. The Lord really burdened my heart with needing to do this… for years I’ve tried to do it for others… my kids, my husband, my friends but never with conviction. But late this winter something changed.. in part my heart. The Lord has been working on it for some time… and I finally yielded this area of my life to Him. The fears, the anxiety, and a whole host of other crazy things… has it been easy. No. Do I sometimes just want to throw in the towel. most definitely! but then it would be a failure… another one. and this time that just can’t happen. Thankfully the Lord is by my side on this daily… holding me up, carrying me when I can’t go it on my own. food is no longer my comfort.. the Lord is. So thank you for being such an encouragement! Can hardly wait for Monday to get here!!!!
