emily {jones design company} & her precious family

i probably teased ya’ll a few times & need to come clean with a little more information about my visit to see emily & stay with her family up in washington.

let me first tell you. as fabulous as you believe emily is in her online persona, she’s even more amazing in person. she’s elegant, graceful, has a sharp wit, hospitable & generous, has a blast with her kiddos, loves on her hunky hubby and can whip up a mean batch of home made caramels like no one’s business. and her hair! have mercy. her hair.

from the moment my plane landed i felt like i’d won the lottery and felt completely loved on and blessed in their home.

i joked with emily at the Allume conference that i’m not a crier. of course i cried a couple times at allume. whatever. but when i walked upstairs to what was referred to all week as “your room” it was all i could do to not cry right there. i mean i’d only been with them for a couple hours. i had an image to maintain-but check this out!

they  created a wonderland full of special touches. so many special touches. emily’s art work. paper chains the kids strung while watching their fave seahawks, glittered art that reads “shine bright” ( which her husband asked if i was a rhianna fan. they’re all hilarious people). poms over my bed. fresh roses. candy…the list goes on. the first night before i turned in, one of the boys created this for me: ( do you see the lego camera?)

i woke up the next morning still on central time so i had a little time to kill. i reached down to the bottom of the magazine stack & began reading a copy of better homes & garden and low & behold…there was emily’s home!! i wanted to run downstairs & say….YA”LL!! this is freaking amazing! but i did what any respectable person would do & instagrammed the moment.

we made hand stamped bracelets, and ate yummy salads. we drank the best egg nog lattes known to man. with grated nutmeg. of course.IMG_3517

i even did a water color. with emily. famous emily. and those are my homemade caramels from when she said…”hey. i think i’ll make caramel”. who says that? like ok. lets just make homemade candy.

do you hate me?

i think i mentioned earlier that i was worried our weather would be…well…typical for the PNW that time of year. i had two-three sessions scheduled for two of the evenings i was there. i landed on a dreary rainy day and spent the next three days with not a cloud in the sky. the lord totally had his hand on our time together!

my little extra session with emily & her daughter audrey can be seen here.

emily & ryan…and each of you precious children, thank you for loving on me for a few days. i am forever blessed!

emily & ryan, you are amazing parents. amazing. you are teaching your children how to love on strangers, be generous, thoughtful & kind. i truly think the world of you & forever grateful for our time together.

ps-i think when i uploaded the smaller images they auto sharpened. again. so forgive the ones that don’t look crisp.

D'Nese - Wowzers! I felt the comfort of everything through your pictures. That is one heck of a way to welcome a guest. That truly was amazing of her and her family to do that. It really speaks volumes about them as people and just how much respect and love they hold towards their guests. It’s no wonder you had such a wonderful time.

I’m not going to lie, the entire family is beautiful. The hubby is quite hunky, too. LOL. (no disrespect) but I just love everything about this post and the photos.

Thanks for sharing.
