the baby clydesdale grows up commercial? oh my….

i have a huge heart for animals. like cry-if-i -run-over -a -squirrel heart for animals. remember the movie “spirit” from years ago? “free willy”?  or better yet, the movie about the gigantic ape taken in to captivity–“mighty joe young”? yeah. bawled like a baby, like a baby,  through all of those.  ole yeller? could not even watch.

something about the connection between man and animal gets me every single time.

the budweiser super bowl ad about the baby Clydesdale being raised by his beloved trainer and then sold to budweiser? all the while with Landslide playing in the background?  my favorite all time ever tear my heart open song? oh its too much…and then the ending….oh stop. crying. every time. crying.

i may have watched it twelve times already more than once today… (you can x out that ad thingy so it won’t interfere with your tearjerker for the day….if you wanna vote for it to be your favorite and no , budweiser is not paying me for this endorsement of their fabulous hallmarkesque commercial)

it obviously says a lot about me and my lack of pro football interest that i didn’t even mention who won…i actually thought the superbowl was a few weeks ago when atlanta was playing. i know. i know.

oh , now beyonce? amazing! ( but i still love the baby Clydesdale commercial best of all)

Kelli - haha! ohhh!!! I love it! Didn’t see it last night but I sure do love it! I really liked the Chrysler truck commercial with Paul Harvey, too! Thanks for sharing and making me tear up at work, Paige!!

February 4, 2013 - 3:03 pm

Shelley - Oh my gosh. I could watch this over and over all day! I didn’t see the Superbowl, ( I am an OB nurse who was working, and a Packers fan anyway thank you) but I am pretty sure this one commercial was better than the game! Thank you for the link! Have a wonderful day!

February 4, 2013 - 3:22 pm

Rochelle - Right there with ya! I watched it for the first time this am and thought “can’t believe I’m crying over a beer commercial!” But that sweet little horse!!

February 4, 2013 - 3:25 pm

Kelly Collins - I could not agree more. As far as I was concerned it was the Beyonce Bowl! And the Clydesdale commercial stole the show. Have Kleenex ready. Could see my kids throughout all of it as I slept on the floor with them when they were sick. When they moved out. Ugh. Tear jerker for sure.

February 4, 2013 - 3:47 pm

Jan - Oh I am so with you on that one. I LOVE animals. It was by far my favorite commercial along with the Dodge Ram “God made a farmer” commercial.

February 4, 2013 - 4:06 pm

Jill - It was my FAVORITE! I totally cried!

February 4, 2013 - 4:11 pm

chrissi - tears at work. again. worth it.

February 4, 2013 - 4:30 pm

Peggy - OH I know isn’t this the greatest commercial ever… it ranks right up there with the Maxwell house one of the soldier boy coming home at Christmas and surprising his parents with coffee that morning. I tear up just thinking of it! and yes I did cry when I saw this commercial last night. Ugh in front of 55 junior/senior high students while watching the Superbowl… oh yeah! and Ol’ Yeller… it has got to be the worst movie ever… I bawled, simply bawled when watching it. Or “Where the Red Fern Grows”… have you seen it? Don’t! tear jerker!! oh and the opening scenes from “Up”… cry like a baby every single time.

Have a good day!

Lisa - Finally got to see the commerical today. That song gets me everytime. I saw Fleetwood Mac a couple of years ago and when she sang that song, you could hear a pin drop. Yes, it is one of my all time favs. Going to see if Ava can play it on the piano for a spring recital.
It was also touching for me, because Ava rides. The love she has for her horse. Teary eyed just thinking about it! Thanks for posting your thoughts. Glad to know that when I hear Landslide I am not the only teary eyed gal.

Polly - I totally agree with Jan who posted above! I have really liked all the Bud commercials, from the frogs to of course, the horses! They are the most gentle horse imaginable, I guess that why they called them the Gentle Giants yesterday!! I also downloaded The Farmer commercial by Paul Harvey, being a farm girl that words really spoke! Thanks Paige, Polly

Destiny - Such a great commercial (love a heart tuggin tear jerker) and yeah for the Internet where we can watch it over and over until we have a head-ache. My Pop took me to see the Clydesdales years and years ago and they are mammoth in real life. And, their security detail? It riveled the Presidents!

Andrea - I once hit a baby deer with my car. It was horrid. I was plagued with nightmares for weeks. It was late at night, and ironically, I was coming home from dealing with a hit by car emergency at the clinic (I’m a vet). The poor little doe ran right out in front and I clipped her backside. She bounded into the woods, and I parked and stumbled my way into the woods to find her (probably not one of my smartest ideas). I didn’t find her, which I hoped meant she was fine. I share your love for our four legged critters! I am going to have to watch this commercial now =)

Debbie - I teared up twice last night – for the Farmers and again for this one. Somewhere around age 25 it became impossible for me to watch Hallmark commericials without tissues. Recently, the worst was the commercial for a computer(maybe?) that had a girl going off to college and leaving the dad alone to deal with all the “sending a daughter off to college stuff” because the mom had passed away. My daughters teared up too. Maybe it’s genetic.

Susan - Oh mercy….I boohood!!! Awww…precious! And your comment on old Yeller….3rd grade read aloud. The teacher was reading the last chapter and another friend and I broke down and sobbed! Extra recess didn’t help! Don’t even get me started. Thanks for sharing my friend! xoxo

Carol Spinski - Hi Paige,

Well I simply adored this commercial and for all the reasons you listed. Also because this sweet baby Clydesdale was born in Missouri about 1 hour from me:) You can even name him-

The commerical was also filmed in Kansas City-So fun:)

Blessings, Carol

melissa - Thanks for sharing this paige .. I didn’t even watch 1 minute of the super bowl game (thus no commercials either). Tear jerker!

February 4, 2013 - 9:38 pm

Kellie - Oh, that one got me…and my husband, but let’s pretend i didn’t just sell him out. ha! We are both big animal lovers and when that horse turned and he was walking away we were toast! 😉

February 5, 2013 - 9:53 am

Andrea - Boo hoo (that’s me) I missed it on Sunday thank goodness because everyone would have teased me. I, too, cry when I see little animals get run over and lets don’t even talk about dogs or cats.

February 5, 2013 - 11:48 am

Lemonade Makin' Mama - Absolutely LOVED that. Such cuteness. All baby animals really get me.

February 5, 2013 - 3:12 pm

Jennifer - I looked over at my sister and she was tearing up…gasping holding her face!
love it!

February 5, 2013 - 4:01 pm

Holly - I have to agree this was touching but I still have to say that the ad dedicated to the farmers of American by Dodge-RAM caused me to wipe a tear from my eye. It was beautiful.

February 5, 2013 - 9:34 pm

kelly - Oh my goodness! This is so beautiful, and absolutely a tear jerker! Is that really the trainer? I also loved the Jeep commercial honoring the soldiers, another one to make you tear up.

February 5, 2013 - 11:46 pm

Ann - I’ve been sick since the night before the Super Bowl so I haven’t watched a lick of television since. But oh my goodness. I sobbed. Which is really hard when you’re stuffed up and coughing.

February 7, 2013 - 3:05 pm

patty - i’d heard about it, but that’s the first time i saw it. cry.out.loud.

they were talking about it at work, and it brought to mind this story that has never left me. be sure to have tissues (or a towel) nearby.
