a love that knows no distance

i’ve had the absolute privilege of capturing some very special images for a family that’s very special to me.

baby audrey claire as a newborn ( shown above) january of 2012 & then her six month images this past summer~

several weeks ago on an unseasonably warm january afternoon, we celebrated her first birthday~

last week i photographed just mommy & daddy. i chatted with jess & zach as we drove over to our location that i wanted to document the ‘them’. often times your identity as a mommy can seem to somewhat shadow your identity as wife. my desire was to capture jess and zach as husband & wife.

primarily because zach was only here in the states for a few days. you see he’s been working in Afghanistan for the majority of this past year. he won’t be home again until july and that’s just for a short two week visit. his work in Afghanistan probably won’t be complete until july of 2014.

last week we had a super blustery, very chilly afternoon to grab these shots.  several of which are actually just for jess & zach, but i wanted to share a few of the others here with. they were so precious together and his love for her was so evident to me.

there were so many times during our session where he was so captivated by her that it was as if i wasn’t there. which was exactly what i was hoping!! i wanted them to feel comfortable enough just being together, while in front of me and to  allow me to capture their intimacy…..for them. images of them, for them, while he’s away. it was perfect.

i had babies the same age as audrey claire when gregg passed away and can still remember the exhaustion that is mixed in with all the delight of being a mommy, especially when you’re on your own. the sacrifice zach is making now for his young family will most definitely be a blessing to them in the future. no doubt. i pray that the lord continue to tightly knit their hearts together ( which is obvious as you witness them together) . and i pray for jess –she’s a fabulous mommy to baby audrey–that He gives her exceedingly more of Him, each day, until her sweet man is finally home.

Zach - Thank you so much Paige for this. I will save it and read it every time i start to miss my girls. I enjoyed getting to meet your husband and your little girl; I also enjoyed the time my wife and I got to spend together while you took our pictures. I will always remember this special time. Pictures really help me out while I am over here. When I get down and start to miss Jess and Audrey, I always have pictures to look back on and remember what I have waiting for me at home.
