full circle friendships and grace & james kids

good morning friends!

i spent some time yesterday with our sweet friends, Addie & Elizabeth. we’ve been family friends with Elizabeth’s family since i was a young girl. my parents are friends with her parents, dan taught elizabeth & her siblings in high school and emi has nannied addie since she was a little bitty thing. you may remember me sharing about their special relationship here.

i realize so much of our youth has wanderlust, and obviously a huge part of my heart lives out in San Francisco! meanwhile,  i’m trying to pretend my little one doesn’t want to tour colleges in Texas. sigh.  however growing up in atlanta & having raised all my girls here i love that so many of our relationships really have come full circle. having life long connections that live close by is a priceless treasure.

we celebrated our emi turning 21 this week! she’s in her junior year at UGA studying early childhood education. she’s dreamed of teaching little ones since she was the very age addie is in the images below. ahhhhh…it does go by in just a blink mamas.  just to add another sweet chapter to this story, addie’s grandmother was my emily’s second grade teacher. i can’t even.

i love each of my girls personal style. whether tattered jean shorts & kimonos ( sweet em) , floral jumpsuits from anthropologie ( shout out to madi), effortless hipster ( sweet caroline) or our brand manager for old navy hq ( sending love to my california girl, savannah–) i love it all. and i loved the days where mary janes, big bows & smocked bishops filled my suburban. photographing addie yesterday in her latest Grace & James Kids truly was a treat. i obviously pondered all of the above in my heart!

grace & james is a beautiful children’s line! inspired by classic southern style, each piece has exquisite design with attention to every tiny detail.

i’m really excited to  start blogging again. i think getting to a place where i can freely share my heart again is taking more courage & bravery than it did over 12 years ago when i first began. y’all have been a safe place for me chat for so many years. you’ve been full of encouragement. you’ve loved on my girls. you’ve love on me as they’ve left the nest. you’ve prayed us through cancer diagnosis and championed us when clear results came as well. my life has been blessed immensely by YOU!  i want the content i write to encourage & bless you. so i’d love your prayers as i consider what & how to share. thank you for the love on the last post, working on my peaceful easy. and y’all. this is a true story- the exact moment i wrote this final sentence, peaceful easy began playing on my pandora. while i love classic 70’s rock & sure love the eagles, i know my peace comes from the lord.

“I am leaving you with a gift–peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.” john 14.27

Lisa Mothersead - Cute photos, especially the one on the bed where her head is turned and she’s looking out the window. I’m glad you’ll be blogging and I enjoy all your blog posts and am thankful for your writing abilities, but, especially like anything about your home or decorating. It’s a nice distraction from (blessed, but you know) everyday life.
