if you’re new around here, we affectionately refer to our first born & last born as the bookends. every twosome has a name. we have the blue eyes, the brown eyes, the two oldest, the youngest two and the bookends. so this past weekend was all about the bookends.
we had a full weekend coming up and i was feeling a little bummed that it was looking like everyone wasn’t going to be able to be at everything for everybody. with a big family, creative maneuvering is a constant. dan reminded me that we almost always are able to have the entire crew together for events & that sometimes we will just have to do the best we can with everyone’s schedules. after being snowed & iced in for a few days, the county opted to close due to ice for yet another day….valentines day! so we were all home & able to take a road trip to see savannah for her actual 21st birthday. trevor had a BIG surprise ( like epic gift giver) & was planning on spending valentines evening together. her long time bestie bailey drove in from ole miss & a big karaoke party was on tap for saturday night. caroline had a large all weekend ( as in all weekend) cheer competition and wasn’t going to be able to make our original sunday plans. so we made a trip to athens to see her on her actual birthday, all together!!
the above photo is caroline drawing names. she asked for tickets to imagine dragons for christmas & one sister was going to be the lucky winner as her “plus one”. lucky birthday girl actually won that fair & square so savannah’s happy day started off great!
i stayed up the night before and attempted to write a poem, that rhymed thanyouverymuch, as part of her birthday surprise. lion king is her all time fave disney movie, so we gifted her & trevor an evening to see the broadway version when it comes to the famous fox theater here in atlanta! i used one of my favorite note pads for my ridiculous attempt at poetry.
and not only did i attempt poetry, i blew her away with homemade brownies. from a box. i know. my mom points are at an all time high! ( little x&o’s can be found here)
we also decorated with fun tissue paper garland 🙂
savannah’s room is so cute…here’s another shot,
i know i’ve been on a huge sugarboo shoutout lately, but my sweetheart surprised me with another addition to my growing pillow collection…and yes i may move them around from room to room. i love their pillows. they’re huge and fluffy! and no, this is not a paid ad. i’m just sharing shopping information!
even brinkley had a great valentines day. chickfila valentine biscuit for the sweet boy.
as i mentioned earlier, caroline has been on a competitive cheersquad this year. the older girls each competed in highschool, but in an effort to help caroline find her thing, we allowed her to try out & join a squad while still in middle school. i love to watch her. she smiles the entire time. so cute! here’s a couple images from this past weekend 🙂
