a few weeks ago, on a beautiful early spring afternoon, i met up with breanna to capture her senior photos. as as walked through the park, she began to share about her accomplishments. i was so impressed with her sweet spirit of humility despite the fact that she’s truly overcome so much. i asked her to give you a little about her background. read below & cheer this outstanding senior on as she steps into her future!
“I have been the drum major/band leader at Parkview for the past two years, and I’ve won leadership and performance awards at several drum major camps. I have maintained a 4.0 GPA throughout high school and am attending Mississippi State University in the fall on an academic scholarship.
In 8th grade, I broke my ankle and went through a year long healing process due to complications. I’ve never been skinny, but during this time I gained a lot of weight. My highest weight was about 260. As soon as I was able to start learning how to walk again, I began changing my diet and exercising. I’ve since lost about 100 pounds. My trainer would work with me every Sunday and quiz me on food labels to kill 2 birds with one stone. I continued working out by myself during the week and only saw my trainer for 6 months. The key to it all is maintaining a positive attitude.”
congratulations breanna!! best wishes as you enter boldly into this next exciting season ahead!!
