i have to state the obvious.
i have spent this fall behind a camera photographing beautiful family after beautiful family after beautiful family.
good gracious alive. i’ll finish a session & think to myself…they are beautiful. they are just beautiful people.
i was going to name this post ” i know pretty people”….and then figured ya’ll would flash back to the 10th grade & think i was being all snobby and you can’t sit at our table about this. so let me explain.
so. remember that scary movie, the sixth sense, where haley joel osment tells bruce willis, in his creepy little scractchy whispery voice…..”I SEE DEAD PEOPLE”?
well. i see beautiful people.in fact. i like that wording so much i might rebrand….
anyways. i don’t necessarily mean i photograph women who could easily be hollywood royalty and rival any of the VS angels ( even though i do) and i don’t necessarily mean that every one i work with has a modeling resume. not that kind. i see beautiful, real people. doing their best to hold down a couple jobs to pay bills & they put on their favorite outfit that shows “them” and arrive at a shoot, relax & enjoy themselves. laugh at my dumb jokes. ‘fake laugh’ when i need them to ( which always will be followed by the real laugh i’m looking for). when i tell a family “talk to your kiddos”…and then from behind the camera i see their faces light up. when i photograph a mama & her son walking hand in hand & he can’t take his eyes off her, that is what’s beautiful. it’s not uncommon for me to witness my clients interacting and actually get a little teary or have it take my breath away.
so yes. i do have stunning friends and i have photographed gorgeous children who have landed modeling jobs. but i see beautiful people through my lens every time i shoot. every single time.
jill was the very first person that hired me three years ago when i launched my photography business. i’ve had the privilege of photographing her & her son each fall since. talk about stunning. both of them. and the interaction? the beautiful interaction? well.see for yourself….
Lisa - Whoa! Photos like right out of a magazine. Your talents, in so many ways, are inspiring 😉
beth cleary - well, it is hard not to see beautiful people right there.. jill and her son are absolutely precious.. you have the gift that accentuates the inner beauty that shines through paige, you truly have a gift and I am glad Jill led you to your passion..i would like to book a session for my 3 girls in the New year say Februaryish!!
Susan W - Paige- you are so right about seeing beautiful people- I think you have to be one yourself in order to recognize this fact- whether a person is beautiful on the inside or out its what you bring out in them for their sessions with you that makes this happen!
Jill and her son are so very lucky to have found your beautiful soul and have you bring out their beauty!
Now why are you making it so hard to pick from the scarves is what I’d like to know? I think all of them could make it to the wish list and I was trying to go slow with those decisions!! Thanks for having your daughter model them for us (and having Brinkley there too!)!
Have a Blessed Thanksgiving!
Jennifer - You have a wonderful knack of seeing the beautiful and capturing it in your photographs. Please let us know if you want to come to Philadelphia some day – I would be the first to sign up. I love these photos of Jill – you really captured their spirit, fun and sense of humor!
Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours!
Lemonade Makin' Mama - You are really the total package my friend. Sweet, talented, caring and kind. And you see the best in others which is something I admire so much about you. It filters through all your photos because I know it sort of drips onto who ever you are photographing. Love that about you.
Destiny - Oh.my.heart…
Stacy Lang - Perfection. Once again, Perfection!! Your talent…your words…your heart…
KC - This made me cry! You are amazingly talented, amazingly real and used by God in amazing ways. So thankful.
emily - This is just so beautiful – you capture your clients and bring out the beauty with your talent and kindness. I can totally see a rebrand 🙂
xo,
emily
Kerri - Paige, I have always said it and I will say it again! You photograph the most beautiful people! You are truly a talented woman who can capture the beauty of each, young and old! XOXO
Jill - Thank you once again for capturing my boy and me! I cherish the gift of your photos. And I do get a kick out of the chats I have had with Adam over the years while you’re snapping away. It used to be maybe a question about ABCs or 1+1 or I may have even sang “You Are My Sunshine” one year. This year, our chats were all about Justin Bieber. “He sags, he spits on his fans, he drives a Ferrari and his mom had him when she was like 16 or 18.”
