my love:hate with may

i love may. i hate may.

well that’s a little harsh but COME. ON. is may the nuttiest, busiest, full of fun events, graduation glory, end of school activities, prom night & wedding shower-FULL four weeks or what?

this little blog is not the only thing i’ve neglected. i showed up to shoot an event sunday ( in shorts-long shorts mind you-it was 86 degrees) and realized i hadn’t shaved. probably since the sunday prior. we’ve eaten a tad more take out. i usually bless it by saying, ” can we all go grab something to eat tonight? i’ll pay”.Β  last week i shot so many sessions/events/prom pictures/grad parties that i honestly have tendonitis in my left elbow. true story.

eating out. parties. my girls dressing up. i really do love may i just add the “hate” part for some dramatic flair.

so. here’s a little hodge podge, not even all shot in may, images that really is more for posterity for me than anything else. in fact, after a quick review, only 4 images are actually from may. but who really cares?

for those of you who love the above calendar. it’s awesome. mine was from anthro, but google 1canoe2. they have an etsy shop.

i have orchids in my office and i love them.

madi’s kindergarten teacher made us this awesome frame. i’ll let you know as soon as she’s taking outside orders. she just finished making a headboard for her bed. insert “holy cow face” emoji here.

i don’t love going to the grocery store but i love it when i come home. unload the car and see how pretty groceries are. even in the bag. fyi-traders joes green & white tea is yuck as per my daughter.

i purchased my first piece of browneyed fox uber cool jewelry years ago. she’s back in the saddle making awesome pieces and talk about super duper cute packaging. i think i opened this box right after i brought in my pretty groceries. everyday life is worth busting out the big camera.—-shameless plug here–speaking of everyday life deserving photoshoots, that is the subject i’ll be teaching at Becoming.Β  this course is for those just learning to use their, often times, intimidating fancy camera. if you are already shooting on manual or already know about iso and aperture, this course is not for you. if you think photos from your “real” camera are reserved for holidays, weddings & big events, this course is for you.

he follows me everywhere. he turns 9 this month. i love this dog like CRAZY. white face ‘n all.

savannah comes home tomorrow. for the summer. she hasn’t lived here since her senior year in high school. i’m beyond excited to have, probably one last, full house summer!!

caroline & emi both have dealt with migraines this month. little bit saw a neurologist when she was 8 and had them ALL the time complete with visual auras. poor thing.

Jane - Hi Paige, I have read you forever but have never commented. I also have a daughter who has had migraines since age 8. She is now 17. It has been a long 9 years of meds, doctors, botox, etc. Lots of ER visits, days off from school, 504 Plan at school, etc. It is such a frustrating thing to deal with. Finally visited Mayo Clinic and went to the Adolescent Pain Clinic. If you ever want to discuss, please email me.
