i would humbly like to ask you to pray for dan. this morning he will head into surgery to have about two feet of his colon removed. the surgeon & his G.I. specialist have both been very encouraging. they feel we’ve found this cancer early. actually, the surgeon said it was basically a miracle that we found it so early. ( later this week i’ll share about that). they’ll remove the tumor-which is about 2 inches. and we should receive the final pathology later in the week. the doctors have been positive with us but we still need to check for microscopic cells and then we’ll hear the final staging.
i’ll be honest. dan’s been aok. totally fine. acting like nothing is going on. he’s not a worrier. like at all. clearly the lord gives peace that passes all understanding. if you’ve read my blog for any amount of time, you know this is my vulnerable spot. i won’t really elaborate on my heart right now. but i’ll tell you friends, this last week has been a little tougher on my spirit then the few weeks prior.
i’d love to be eloquent and weave beautiful words as i write this post, but i’ll leave you with the scripture that has blessed my heart many many times over the years. these words are much more important than anything i could muster up anyways.
this is what i’ll dwell on today…
(ps, if you’d like to follow along on instagram, my link can be found here)
He who dwells in the shelter of the Most High
will abide in the shadow of the Almighty.
I will say to the Lord, “My refuge and my fortress,
my God, in whom I trust.”
For he will deliver you from the snare of the fowler
and from the deadly pestilence.
He will cover you with his pinions,
and under his wings you will find refuge;
his faithfulness is a shield and buckler.
You will not fear the terror of the night,
nor the arrow that flies by day,
nor the pestilence that stalks in darkness,
nor the destruction that wastes at noonday.
A thousand may fall at your side,
ten thousand at your right hand,
but it will not come near you.
You will only look with your eyes
and see the recompense of the wicked.
Because you have made the Lord your dwelling place—
the Most High, who is my refuge—
no evil shall be allowed to befall you,
no plague come near your tent.
For he will command his angels concerning you
to guard you in all your ways.
On their hands they will bear you up,
lest you strike your foot against a stone.
You will tread on the lion and the adder;
the young lion and the serpent you will trample underfoot.
“Because he holds fast to me in love, I will deliver him;
I will protect him, because he knows my name.
When he calls to me, I will answer him;
I will be with him in trouble;
I will rescue him and honor him.
With long life I will satisfy him
and show him my salvation.”
thank you for loving on my family all these years…on fun simple days and on tough tender ones as well.
