as soon as i posted yesterday, i refreshed my emails. lo and behold if the images and stories below were included. its sorta weird for me to be involved in direct sales because i’m a terrible direct sales person. i never want to bother someone or make someone feel like, “oh dear, here she comes. she’s going to try to sell me something”.

so, with my focus on not bothering people i often times stay quiet.

almost a year ago to date the lord put the desire in my heart to educate myself to what’s going on in the world. to educate myself to the HIV crisis and orphan crisis and the fact that millions, MILLIONS, of people are slaves. right now. in our world. i do NOT want to close my eyes to this and pretend my little world is all there is.i don’t want to be quiet.

jessica, our noonday founder, is incredible. she’s gorgeous. she’s a brilliant entrepreneur. she’s all about OTHERS. i fell in love with that girl from our first little phone interview. i often times tell her she’s one of my heros.

well, she just came back from africa. again. and she visited many many of artisans. her heart broke over so many of the stories and reality of the people there, yet she was also filled with hope. again. inspired by the “ever triumphant spirit of every african” she met.

these people are real. they are. they’re not just a face represented by a missionary’s slide show of someone “out there”. they are real people who are brave and are overcomers and have dreams. big dreams.

so i want to share david’s story with you. i dare you to read it and just go on about your day. i don’t say that in an ugly tone, just from a heart that realizes i myself certainly can’t change the world. but i can change the life of another. and so can you.

i shared several months , or maybe it was weeks ago, that my sweet savannah is heading over to kosovo to deliver operation christmas child boxes with samaritans purse. you can read about it here

she has been given an amazing opportunity !!  many of you supported her on this trip and for that i am eternally grateful!

i would love to ask ya’ll to pray for her.  we’re heading to the airport this morning with her, & trevor too!  they won’t return until late on the 21st. please pray for safety for the team. pray the people will see jesus in her.

it’s so awesome as a parent, no matter the age of your child, to see them doing what the Lord has called them to do using the gifts He gave them. this is one of those opportunities for dan & i!

yesterday she finished her finals and was heading back home. she wasn’t far from the campus when her car died. little fact for you~ anytime god calls you to do big things, don’t be surprised when trials come along. trying to get you off focus. trying to rob your joy and steal your peace. so to make a long story short, my sweet friend tara just so happens to live in athens and just so happened to be out running errands and just so happened to scoot over and be a support to savannah within minutes of my call to her. another little fact for you~ anytime god calls you to do big things, He goes before you and He will be with you!

each of us has an opportunity to change the life of another. to love on another. to lay down our lives for another. it may be flying overseas to visit babies in orphanages. it may be helping an elderly lady with her groceries. it may be purchasing fair trade products. it may be praying for a 19 year old sorority girl. it may be delivering a shoe box full of goodies to a little one who might not have a stocking full of toys on christmas morning. or it may be driving your suv down the street and loading up a stranded college girl’s luggage instead of shopping a little longer at tjmaxx.  you’ll have an opportunity to do something today. i just bet!

“And the King will say, ‘I tell you the truth, when you did it to one of the least of these my brothers and sisters, you were doing it to me!’

Michelle Whitaker - What an awesome opportunity for your daughter. My children have gone to an Operation Christmas Child processing facility with our youth group and loved it. How wonderful to be able to go to another country and share the love of Christ.

PS) You are a great sales person. Looking forward to getting my Noonday pieces.

December 12, 2012 - 9:25 am

laurie overholtzer - It’s 5 am in California, and I am up listening to the rain and reading your daily thoughts. I am in tears thinking once again about the hurting, lost and lonely around the world. You’re right Paige….we can all change a life. We must try.

We are praying for Savannah and Trevor and the team as they travel on this very important mission. We pray for health and safety, and a life changing experience for not only the team, but the lives they will touch.

God bless you and keep your heart at peace as you await her return home.
Merry Christmas.

Amy Avery - Oh Paige, I certainly will be prayig for Savannah and Trevor as they make their way to and from the mission trip they are embarking on. I am so excited for the two of them and the way that God is working through and in them to do his work. This post is one of my favorite things that I have read this season. It tells of what the true meaning of Christmas is. This is something that I will read over many times throughout the rest of my journey to Christmas Day not only for the sake of praying for your sweet girl and Trevor, but also because I think this post is opening my heart up to something that God wants me to glean. Safe travels Savannah and Trevor. You are his hands and his feet and his joy to those you are going to minister to. God bless you and keep you in the palm of his hand.

Bethanie - I remember hearing a pastor say that the devil doesnt bother those who arent following Jesus…he’s already got them taken care of…his big work is for those loving Jesus and doing His will…those are the ones Satan needs to try to discourage the most. Savannah and Trevor will be in my thoughts and prayers, I told you how much Samaritan’s purse means to me. I cannot wait to read about her trip.

And precious David, the things on his “Most Important But Not Urgent” list are all things that we just take for granted. We are so selfish and greedy… This post was beautiful and thought provoking. Blessings my friend.

Anon - I prayed for her. I also prayed that I am sorry I often feel jealous of y’all. Even in your trials and when things are not going perfectly for you, you all still have an utterly beautiful life (and beautiful things) so I prayed about that. I do LOVE your blog, LOVE to look at all the beauty and hear about all the beauty and how good you all are (and you are, I KNOW you and your family aren’t perfect, but you definitely are good people) so that is why I keep reading. It outweighs my jealousy.

tara - tears are streaming down my face.
i’ve prayed so many times for SMK today….He keeps bringing her to my mind.

He keeps bringing you to my mind, too, friend. praying for you and dan as you welcome your kids to do what God is calling them to do for the advancement of his kingdom..it’s a sacrifice for you guys, and he sees it.

i had no idea that trevor was going on the trip, too.
he had a late final last night..he has to be exhausted!!!
praying the Lord gives him exactly the rest and refreshing he needs to arrive there and show JESUS to those precious kids.

i’m so envious. i wish i was on a plane to meet these precious people.
i’m at home most days schooling my kids and doing laundry and preparing dinner…while I’m SO thankful for this role that God has given me in my family, I don’t always “feel” like I’m making a huge investment in the kingdom…helping your sweet girl yesterday was the highlight of my day. 🙂 well, talking to you and learning from you was a tie!

December 12, 2012 - 11:23 pm

Suzanne - Paige, I’m going to
keep this up on my
computer so that I
can start my day with
its message in the
morning. God bless
you and your sweet
SMK. Through you
both the David’s of
the world will be
able to shine…..
