7, 17, & a beekeeping gift

i asked dan, “my word, how long has savannah been gone?”. “forever” was his response.

seriously though, she’s having a life changing summer. that’s for sure & seems to be truly loving all of it!

she left 7 weeks ago & it truly does feel like forever ago. we leave for our holy week vacation on saturday. for a while we didn’t think she was going to be able to come. cry me a river. like dan was already giving me the “you know there’s going to be some vacations where we won’t always be together….” talk. but what mom is every really ready for that to begin? we aren’t a ski in the winter, disney world for spring break, lake for memorial day  kinda family. we head to the gulf coast every year since dan & i married and honestly we start counting down the sleeps, sometimes in january. so thinking of being on vacation without all my girls was going to be a tear jerker for all of us really. but the lord showed up big time and made a way ( through a very generous & loving friend) and a little budget maneuver for savannah to come in for a few days! so in 7 days i’ll finally see my sweet girl!!

since i’m a good two months behind in a little “life lately” update, i’ll annoy you and share a little of life before she left. (i’ll insert here, if i didn’t have two businesses that rely heavily on a few sources of social media, such as blogging, i might close it all down and just instagram. can i get an amen?)

we lunched. sometimes with famous people like big mama & boo mama.

we cooked healthy things like delicious fish tacos

& sometimes we ate at waffle house. in flannel. it was chilly here in may.

we saw fun friends like rockstar tara ( sorry savnnah for the blink shot). i love it when my daughters fall in love with my friends and then they become real life friends who hang out & drink coffee on a regular basis.

we went to the Braves. one of my most favorite things to do in the whole world. ( emily was there, she just wasn’t in the photo mood at the time of the picture).

we went to church together & one day i wanna journal as cool as savannah does.

we celebrated mother’s day & little bit crafted me a camera made out of a diet coke can. how cool is she?

we took spin together.

because of said spin class and living at the gym monday through thursday mornings, i’m down 17 pounds.

we’ve tried out new pizza joints.

we’ve kept fresh flowers in the house with weekly trips to trader joes.

we’ve done a little shopping.

we’ve tried to talk dan into getting his own gadget. he now has an iphone & has joined instagram.

~~~
ok…
a couple more things. a few of ya’ll have emailed & asked if it’s too late to join my ecourse. not at all!! remember to first join jeanne’s site, which is free. she’ll send you a ” you’re in email” and then you can join whatever $10 courses your heart desires. mine is on fashion & style. you can read a little more here.
one of the sweetest, most creative bloggers is teaching a course on the art of beekeeping! anne marie has offered to gift one of you a seat on her course. please leave a comment stating that you’d like to be entered for the course & i’ll get in touch with you friday!
thank you anne marie!
so maybe we can call “blogging two months later” something more charming like “blogging. summer style”. i mean really who really cares right? i’ll be sharing madison’s prom…also from may….soon too!
Kerri - I love keeping up with the Knudsens! Are you and SMK wearing matching sunglasses in the first picture? y’all are too cute! And congrats on losing 17 pounds! I have been using my treadmill faithfully but the scale won’t budge! Have a happy vacation my friend!
Mimi - Albert Einstein said,”Life isn’t worth living, unless it is lived for someone else”, enjoy the moments with your sweet family! Your pictures of your family show how special,loving and caring you are to one another.
I had the same mom moment as you this year when I thought my daughter wasn’t going to make it to our family vacation. We’re also a once a year vacation family and it just wouldn’t have been the same without her.
This year has been difficult enough learning to share with my children’s new spouses. And since my new son in law and daughter in law have joined our family, I’ve had to learn to share with their parents!
Laura B. - I would love to be entered for the beekeeping course. My mom just got a bee kit, and is getting ready to start, so the course would be perfect for her! I would love to surprise her with it.
Jennifer - you and smk look just like sisters…not mother/daughter. just alike!
love and enjoy the gulf coast…we were so close to being there same time…yet so far away! 🙁
Ella - Paige, these are my favorite kind of posts. I really enjoy reading ‘life lately’ (or not so lately). You must be missing Savannah like crazy. I was worried for you that she might not come to Seaside, happy she can come. It looks like you are having a fun summer. I LOVE Caroline’s peach ruffle top (wouln’t mind wearing it myself). Your girls are looking good & SO ARE YOU. Losing 17 pounds is impressive. Spin class together sound like fun! I was inspired by your fitness & decided to do something myself (I ended up in zumba)& feeling great.
Enjoy your vacation.
Big hugs and enjoy your trip. I’m sure I’m speaking for many here when I say that we can’t WAIT to see your vacation pictures.
Be Blessed.
jodi - I love the catch up post Knudsen style! I would LOVE to take a spin class….how fun, of course, stuck in the middle of the “boonies”, we have no gym with a spin class. 🙂 Congrats on your 17lbs….AWESOME!
Lindsey - I was down at 30A for a few days this week while my dad was at a meeting. It was absolutely GLORIOUS! Perfect weather and good eating. Hope the Knudsen family gets much of the same! Thrilled to hear that Miss Savannah is going to be able to join you for a few days. I’ve been praying for her daily…hope we will get a little blog recap of some of her adventures when she returns!
tara - the queen of all rock stars called me a rock star?
how sad is it that your words sort of made my day.
your girl is easy to love…meeting her for coffee is like a vacation for me.
not even playing a little bit.
loved seeing you this week…feel like I could sit and talk with you for hours.
keep showing us May pictures. And a big, fat, loud AMEN on shutting down all social media except for IG, IF IT WEREN’T FOR OUR BUSINESSES.
preach it, sista!
If you don’t do anything else this summer, order some of your favorite IG pics from Printsagram. the end.
