edie’s ebook is here! a real life ~ beauty from ashes

she had me at hello. or whatever she wrote within that very first post upon which i stumbled. hook, line & sinker. the whole enchilada.

being both inspired & smitten, i’ve read every post she’s written since that day. i’ve bookmarked her archives and stayed up way into the night catching up with her life before that first day i found her.

edie is one of those rare jewels that comes along & spurs us on to be better “us”. you know what i’m saying? while there’s been a hundred few days here and there when honestly i wished i was a little more ‘edie-like’, she has a smooth way of encouraging her readers to just rise up & pour in to those the lord has placed in our lives and love ‘em well. the best we can.

a couple years ago i had edie write a post for me on just how she does what she does everyday. she’s a former physician turned stay at home mom. she runs, she bakes bread and looks like a bombshell. actually come to think of it, why am i her friend? ha! kidding!! no seriously, a few weeks after that post, her home burned to the ground. everything but her family, lost in a fire.

ya’ll she came out of ashes, literally and figuratively, a more beautiful, stronger version.

last march we became real life friends when we spent time with another blogger crush turned real life dear friend , sibi. and it was solidified. i love her. dan loves her too (they both share a love and interest in c.s. Lewis & Bonhoeffer)– sharp wit & intellect are an irresistible combination!

she is everything you imagine and more.  gorgeous, brilliant, southern and genuine.  i often times joke with her about her love of true religion jeans and mac cosmetics.goodness gracious ya’ll have seen me post her recipes and talk about her over and over again.if i could only read one blog, edie’s would be it. she’s not just a foodie or just a blog about design.  while she may share her favorite recipe, she may turn around and talk about her fine hubby stevie the next day. then she’ll go all garden girl and then switch it up &  talk about how important it is to invest in a good pair of designer jeans. she’s transparent, brilliant and spiritual. she loves the lord, her family and her man. she loves to love people in every medium possilbe. i mean really. what else is there.

well, here’s the deal, she has just released a true labor of love that is going to blow. you. away.

her ebook, 31 Days to a Heart of Hospitality

i’m serious ya’ll. it’s going to blow you away.  i’m not going to steal any of her thunder as i resist the urge to copy and paste loads of her quotes.

edie girl, i love you & wish you all the best and much success as you pour out your heart and soul into this art form for all of us to see.

YOU are real deal sister.

“to bestow on them a crown of beauty

instead of ashes,

the oil of gladness

instead of mourning,

and a garment of praise

instead of a spirit of despair.

They will be called oaks of righteousness,

a planting of the Lord

for the display of his splendor”

Amy Avery - I love your heartfelt words describing our friend. She indeed is the real deal, through and through. You know, though, Miss Paige, you are too. I draw inspiration from both of you equally and if I could choose only one blog to read, well, I’d not be able to choose between you. I am so thrilled to know how GOd has brought you together as friends as well as to see how God is working through each of you simultaneously to bring his light to others. So excited to read Edie’s book. Now when are you going to publish yours? :-)

LLH Designs - I can only imagine what it would be like to be in the same room with the two of you. Sparks would fly! I discovered Edie’s blog right after the fire. Wept at her story and at her restoration. You have both seen beauty from ashes in your life. Maybe that’s part of what unites your hearts so beautifully. xoxo!

Carol Stewart - Hey Paige, I wish I could hit the back symbol again and again and again and figure out how I stumbled onto Edie’s blog. Your mention of your blog post a few weeks before her fire reminds me that I had discovered life in grace a short time before the fire and had fell in love with Edie’s style and grace. Maybe I “knew” you first? Anywho, I moved to TN last fall and was blown away to meet Edie in person at her jewelry party. Whoah, even better in person, she was so happy to give this Chicago-girl a warm southern welcome. Can’t wait to read my ebook, thanks for sharing the sweet pics. Great blog here.

Ruth - Edie is fabulous and genuine. I have always loved her blog and through her blog I found yours and Sibi’s. Even when the days go crazy and there isn’t time for much I try to always check in on these three blogs. I don’t comment here as often as I should but your blog is awesome. You are also gracious and encouraging. Your photography, home and family are all beautiful. So are you.
So happy Edie’s book is out and I can’t wait to sit and read it.

Bethanie - I remember the first time I read Edie’s blog…my mom found it, and said, “You HAVE to read this…” Ive been hooked ever since. There are days when you can tell Edie loves WAAAAY smarter authors than my little brain can handle…but I love her blog so much! I think the reason y’all bonded,Paige, is because you are as sweet and precious as she is. I feel like I have done my devotions after reading both of you each day. :) You both inspire so many people! xoxox friend.
