several months ago i posted about an embarrassingly simple, do it yourself, jewelry board i made. well ever since then i have recieved several questions how i store the rest of my jewelry collection.
now let me say this( i always love a well placed disclaimer)– i’ve been a little hesitant to post this because then you’ll really see up close and personal my dirty little secret. i’m an accessory hoarder. there. it’s out there for everyone. i’ve even had a daughter of mine, i won’t name names, ask if dan ever gets mad because i purchase so many things…well. the answer to that is no. but i will say, i’ve always been an accessory girl for as long as i can remember. and i’m not a less is more kinda girl when it comes to jewelry. i try to do that “look in the mirror before you walk out the door and take one piece of jewelry off” plan and i usually succeed. give me jeans and a white tshirt , great shoes ( preferably boots) and great jewelry and i’m all set.
so please go easy on me about the amount of jewelry ok friends.
i’m an tad compulsive and organized so i try to place my like objects together. the jewelry board i shared earlier primarily houses my gold pieces, pearls, and blingy jewelry. many of the long rosary style necklaces were featured on my post about yesterday jewelry. my larger, bulkier noonday pieces are all stored on boards ready to go to trunk shows & i’ll share those another day. i need to pace ya’ll.
i hang more dainty necklaces from a wall hook thingie above an antique dressing table i have in our bathroom. that’s where pretty much everything else lives.
the next image is how savannah keeps many of her jewelry pieces when she’s home from college.
sorry these images seem a little out of order, but here are more images from the jewelry board. it’s basically just a 24×36 inch cork board covered in linen. i used upholstery tacks from lowes around the edges and little nickel style push pins to hang the pieces from. you can read more here.
we’re big lovers of cocktail rings over here. being too pretty to spend their life all closed up in a drawer, i used a little silver platter for those.bracelets are the trickiest thing for me to store. as you can see in the first image i have stacked vintage crystal bowls that were my mother- in- law’s . i have many of my cuffs and my bead bracelets in those. i use this tstand for other larger pieces.savannah gifted me the funky jewelry tree for christmas and it holds a few more bracelets.i store my earrings in little drawer organizers inside the dressing table.my girls also love jewelry and i do share and play nicely!
we have a very small master closet and master bath so i made the most of the small space available… and my awesome hubby has never complained 🙂
and speaking of jewelry, i have a fun giveaway for ya’ll early next week so swing back by!
( many of the pieces that are pictured you can find at carol and company, yesterday jewelry, anthropologie, leigh ann herrin design, noonday collection, j crew, and most of the cocktail rings were purchased at various boutiques and many of them are ollipop.
