merry christmas!

merry christmas friends!!

i wish each of you the joy & hope that is found in christ jesus this christmas!

while christmas cards & weddings, instagram stories & Facebook albums can make all of every moment of life look overflowing & full of all manner of goodness, i am acutely aware this time of year can bring much tenderness & even tears along with it.  i’ve climbed into bed on christmas eve as a newly widowed mama with babies and i’ll climb in bed tonight with a full home…i pray that no matter what season i’m in that i owe all my joy to Jesus.

He was born in a yucky, filthy stable in a “nothing good can come out of it” kinda town. to simple people and spoke first to the common “dirty” shepherds caring for the sheep…sheep born to be the sacrifice for sin–incidentally exactly what HE came to be…

He is never too far

you are never too far gone for Him,

the savior of the world.

2016 held some of our family’s most wonderful days & some of our most tough days as well…the tough ones just aren’t photographed. but i will forever sing His praise…and i am indeed forever grateful that He came so all would be made right.

Emmanuel. God with us!!

i passed on the christmas tour this year. i needed to wave a white flag on several things. a fully decorated home days before the first of december was the first to go. as i sit here, lunch time on christmas eve, our home is full! our newlyweds who left the morning after they returned from their honeymoon to live in california are with us! our almost college graduate currently residing in philly as she interns for anthropologie is with us! our sophomore at UGA is with us!! and our baby girl, now a sophomore in high school is with us! what a tender heart i have this year! presents are still being wrapped & take out pizza may be on tap this evening. we’re heading to our church home, Passion City Church all together -my “all clear of cancer” hubby beside me…& i couldn’t ask for a thing more!

here are a few little glimpses of things around our home this season. next post will have a few more iPhone shots, wrapped gifts & fun pics of togetherness!

It’s Christmas my friends!

O come let us adore Him

Christ the Lord!!
