i knew the first time i drove up to this gorgeous historic mansion that i wanted to photograph my own girls here. ( bulloch hall in roswell is the childhood home of millie bulloch, theodore rosevelt’s mother. ) it was october and the trees were showing off all their glorious colors. in my minds eye i pictured these stunning trees bare of any of their color for the session with my girls. maybe even an overcast day. perhaps wreaths on the windows from chirstmas celebrations.
i knew there was only going to be a couple of evenings between savannah’s trip & her several days at the passion conference when we’d have everyone home and it not fall on one of the holidays. i laid the groundwork and told them we’d treat them to a yummy meal at Pure afterwards. hey. i’m not above bribery. i asked if they’d wear their boots and maybe a pretty winter coat. the rest was up to them. as much as i love photography and could play with my camera every day, i seldom have the treasured opportunity to shoot a little session with my own girls, all of them.
these turned out even better than what i imagined that afternoon in october.
i hadn’t planned on being in any images ( hence the grandpa sweater) but there was a nice lady who offered to shoot a few.
we did a quick run through at Roswell Provisions which is a wonderfully charming destination too!
