i want to share a little bit about my trip to seattle recently. i probably teased a little bit but truth be told i was pretty nervous that everything would fall into place.
a few weeks ago, emily invited me to come to seattle. she & one of her dearest friends wanted family photos. after a few dozen, “are you kidding me’s?” we began to discuss logistics. i was technically booked for the remainder of 2013. i had just returned from nashville & was soon to head out to the allume conference in south carolina ( & i never travel. like i should be crowned queen of the homebodies). between noonday trunk shows & photo sessions there was only a 3 day span free on the calender. well. except for a dentist appointment and that was definitely something that could go. as it turns out, emily & kc were both open those same 3 days. we booked my flight and i began to pray for clear skies. now we’re talking the pnw so this was already set up as a tall order. we would do 2 sessions on 2 evenings. 2 evenings in seattle with no rain. in november. are you with me?
as i board the plane in the wee hours of the morning in atlanta, i couldn’t help but smile to myself over & over again and think, i can’t believe i get to do this. thank you lord.
i met emily & her hunkie hubby at allume as they were leading a few of the break out sessions. and can i just tell you, they are beautiful people. like i joke with emily about her drop dead head of hair & incredible figure and the fact that she oozes elegance.
i will share more about my time with her adorable family, but you can peek at ‘my room’ here.
i arrived in seattle on a dreary rainy day, but ya’ll, i spent the next three days in a cloudless, gorgeous, bright sunshiney town just outside of seattle. not a cloud in the sky!
the next morning i asked emily if i could take her & little audrey out for a session. “twirl” is one of emily’s favorite prints & i love it when she shares how that word touches her heart. so “twirl” was our theme. i picked out audrey’s little ensemble & we headed out on a sunny but very chilly morning.
i hope you enjoy what we created….
emily designed one of our noonday journals. i think it makes a perfect gift!
