tween cuteness

i tucked her in one night and the next morning she woke up and was taller, thinner, blonder and older. that happens. you realize that don’t you? it’s like overnight and they segue from one developmental stage to the next.

this middle school age with her is absolutely perfect. she’s growing up and becoming interested ( thankfully not in boys…well celebrity boys maybe) in makeup and fashion. yet she’s still so sweet and snuggly and the perfect amount of little girl. she hasn’t hit the stage where she’ll dislike me. although she’s promised if she goes through that grumpy-with-mom stage she’ll make it brief!

i love that first image. sweet baby girl. sweet “little girlness” to her face still.

she was working on homework and listening to One Direction and Florence and the Machine so i just went in her bedroom and hung with her for a little while.  i had taken her to the MAC counter a few weeks prior for a special treat. she was placed in all advanced classes at school and her choice of special treat was a MAC lipstick. ( very light color. i promise)  i just realized as i was looking back through the post once more that she’s standing in her closet, with her MAC lipstick, in front of her dollbabies…..sweet sweet age….sigh

tiffany day - I so agree about this age! My daughter is 13 and what you descrbie about Caroline – is true of my Sydney too!

Oh the sweetness – I pray that IF Syd goes through the grumpy with mom stage it will be very short lived.

Syd isn’t so much into lipstick, but likes make-up and shopping for sure!

Jen Pighini - So sweet! I hope my two are this sweet when they are 13. I just remember it being such a difficult and awkward time for me but I’m hoping it will be better for them!

Maria - NO!!! She really is growing up. Isn’t Caroline is supposed to stay that “little bit” who you entered in that Heidi Swapp photo contest years ago? I mean really. We keep feeding these babies and they keep growing. Since she can’t stay little, I will admit, she couldn’t be more lovely with her crowns, dolls, MAC lipstick and ballet slippers.

heather owens - My daughter is the same age as Caroline and I agree this is one of the sweetest stages!!!

Tammie - Paige, she seems like such a sweet girl, like her sisters. I am sure there will be times as every teen girl goes through. I have to daughters and their teen years were a breeze, I hope the best to you. They loved their friends but now I am one of their best Friends/Mom and I love it.

Betsy - Paige, she is just adorable – and her inner beauty shines through as well! I have noticed her looking more grown up lately!

Where did she get her cute top? Your girls have the cutest clothes! As a mom of dancers (not to be confused with dance mom) I have been wondering if she will be dancing in the Nutcracker? We are busy rehearsing every weekend!

tara - love these shots of her…
this stage started out hard for us….6 weeks of crying (me not Luke) but we’re over a hump..I won’t say THE hump cause I’m sure there will be another one..but thankfully, the first one seems to have passed.

they do go to bed one night little and wake up one morning older….crazy fast. this first one caught me very off guard. 🙁 maybe I’ll be more ready for the next two? you think?

anywho, caroline is a doll….I remember so clearly putting my leg against walls and doorways like that….now, I’d have to have an ambulance nearby!!! oh to be flexible again. 🙂

okay…question about music…do your girls listen to the junk stations? my boys are enthralled with it….and we’ve caved a little bit. they turn the station if it’s horrible, but 100.1 and 94.1 and all those other stations are all they want to listen to now….

I miss the days of total 104.7. 🙂

help a sister out….tell me to chill out.
