we sure are getting the itch for spring around here-as i assume many of you are as well! yesterday i finally took down the holiday find of 2013, also known as my three $10 boxwood wreaths from trader joes. yes i hung them in november & yes they were dusty but i thought they sure were pretty. we don’t have window treatments on our windows and i love all the bright light that floods in, especially when its still dreary & cold outside. talk to me in august and i’ll have a different opinion!

one of my favorite collections is my mercury glass candle holders collection. i purchased most of mine at the iron gate in franklin tennessee, but they are roost brand so if you google that you can probably find them at a few retailers. my favorite shop in atlanta is sugarboo & co and each time i swing in there i pick up another one. i love how they shimmer when the sunlight floods our kitchen. i move them around, as you can see, but love to group them all together. being a collector at heart but loving a clean, non-cluttered somewhat minimal decor, i feel grouping several like objects together visually appeals to me as one item. ( see 3 dozen candles in our non-functioning fireplace above) because you might ask, i also purchased my humongeous wood thingie shown below at sugarboo but i’ve seen them here & there. maybe even at the country living fair. the tray shown below was my score of the century from guatemala. the same artisan carves our smaller trays you can find here.

a few other random things around the house. shown here are a few of my finds from watson kennedy in seattle. who incidentally carries those little mercury glass candle holders as well. i shopped there when i visited emily. melaine met us over there that day and while our time in the city was short & sweet it truly was one of my favorite events from 2013. watson kennedy truly is a visual delight. my bags were already packed for my flight & my “want” stack was growing so they shipped everything back to atlanta for me. i sorta got carried away & forgot how many bottles of olive oil i brought up to the counter!

always a sucker for beautiful packaging, the trubee honey products truly are simply lovely.

my sweet boy brinkley enjoying the sun

i don’t think i ever shared with ya’ll the beautiful sign caroline created for me at christmas. completely framed in gold glitter! i have it sitting on my antique desk in the studio, just below the monogram savannah created for me. we like gold glitter. what can i say.

sweet little tissue garlands can be found here

i hope ya’ll are having a great “its almost spring” sorta day! don’t forget to enter in the $50 giftcard i’m giving away here. here’s a real life shot of the kismet bag which is selling like crazy! ( i’m also wearing the ready or knot, the two coins necklace, metallic pearls, and bullet & beads hoops.

simone - It looks so beautiful Paige….and isn’t Brinkley the most handsome dog ever, that’s a beautiful shot of him 🙂
Love the sign Caroline made for you, your girls are so talented….and you look fabulous in that last photo by the way! Xx
Lemonade Makin Mama - I LOVE all the gold glitter. Such sweetness. Still kicking myself for not getting to see YOU. I complained about it quite a lot, you should know. Was just a crazy week for us and I am still in that weirdly tied to not being gone from home for too long stage with my kids after school. I know that stage when I can leave town for a bit is coming… We’re nearly there, just not *quite yet. Sigh. Anyhow I am SO EXCITED about your giveaway. I think I entered. It didn’t let me say anything it just said I’d commented for 5 entries or something. So I hope my name’s in the pot. It’s all such cuteness!
Love seeing all your pieces of homey-ness.
Flower Patch Farmgirl - Love these little peeks, P.
And I’m DROOLING ONTO MY KEYBOARD over that bag!
Donna - Oh my…your dog is too cute! Great pictures & I love your blouse & necklaces too 🙂
Jen@thecottagenest - I’m crazy about every bit of it. I’m headed to flash ills soon and I will have to check out that shop. I never did have much luck finding any online. Did I ever mention that I have the same bed as you? I got mine from Goldsmith’s in Memphis about maybe 20 years ago?! I’m old. It is now Maddie’s bed and lives in her apartment and we have a king but I sure did love that bed.
tara - loving the peek into your house….
i’d love one of those trays with the candles on it…loved it when i saw it at Christmas!
where’s your narnia sign now that the GORGEOUS canvas is in the kitchen? my house is needing some topsy-turvy…kind of tired at looking at things in all their sameness.
