by the dock & a few summer essentials

good morning friends!

today i’d love to share with you a few pieces that would made great additions to your summer wardrobe.

the By the Dock Bag is 14×14 and made of woven cotton. This bag is stitched in an artisan workshop in Kampala, which employs women who lost their jobs when a local factory shut down. They make 3x the factory wage – a sustainable wage that allows them to send their children to school and save for their dreams. this bag will hold a full day’s worth of beach towels or looks great with just a few items inside. super cute. $64

madison is also wearing the Olivia necklace. the olivia necklace is exclusive to Noonday. it’s made of chunky paper beads & fabric found at the market in Uganda.  you may remember i shared the powerful story about the real life  Olivia here.

also featured are the hand crocheted earrings. these earrings are handmade in Austin by a group of refugees who fled Burma. The women and their families fled persecution in their home country, often based on their different ethnicities. Once these families are settled in the States, they faced many challenges, including securing steady employment and navigating a variety of cultural and language barriers. In addition, many refugee families are still healing from the physical, mental and spiritual repercussions of war. Creating jewelry is one way dignity and economic empowerment restores them.

& finally one of my all time favorites, the ever stylish & functional Perfect Sun Hat. his hat was handwoven of raffia in Madagascar and is truly a fabulous piece whether you’ll be seaside this summer or spending early morning hours in the garden.

also wanted to share with ya’ll the My Catch All Bag is in stock. this little cutie is all the rage at our trunk shows & i’d dare say most of the ambassadors favorite piece. we can hardly keep it in stock. i’ve received word from home office these are in and going fast. the bag is black & cream striped and can be worn on your arm or as a shoulder bag & is a dozen levels of fabulous. one of my sweet friends posted hers on instagram (  the fun embellishment is not included)

hope to see ya’ll monday! ( remember, you must register first here & then choose your summer course of choice. the course is available for you to view & read at your leisure through the end of the year!)
