goodness gracious ya’ll! after two super dark & dreary days we awoke sunday to a glorious easter sunrise & what turned out to be a perfectly lovely day! which is exactly how i always picture good friday & then easter to be!
with all five of us girls trying to get ready at the same time we were not free from a little sunday morning drama and maybe even an ugly comment or two was said. hashtag real life. but the words spoken by our pastor & listening to one of madi’s bff’s sing oceans was a beautiful reminder of what we have to truly be thankful for and that is, HE IS RISEN!!!
since all the crew was home & outdoors was glorious, we celebrated and moved our simple lunch outside to the back porch. ham & turkey, caprese salad, prosciutto wrapped asparagus, dan’s mama’s macaroni & cheese ( i double the cheese. thankyouverymuch), & parker house rolls. i promptly forgot that i had angel food cake which i planned to top with fresh whipped creme and berries. who forgets dessert? honestly.
(this one’s blurry but i still love. darn slow to focus fancy lens)
savannah has developed into quite the hand lettering artist. i love sitting beside her at church because her journal is truly a work of art. and lest you think she’s all doodles, she writes a powerful application.
she freshened up the dining room chalkboard as well! lucky mom!
bailey was in town & it’s all laughs when she & savannah get together. makes me miss having my crew all under one roof, with their friends. at all times. sigh.
& lastly. oh happy day because look what arrived in the mail last week! nester’s new book, the nesting place, will release next week and i can honestly say- you are gonna LOVE it!! you can pre-order here. i’ll share my love for myquillyn & how i wish i had her mantra when i was first married twenty three years ago. things were not all hashtag, it doesn’t have to be perfect to be beautiful in my 90’s newlywed life. sadly. she’s pioneered and so sweetly paved the road of embracing what we have, rented or not. this book, not only is it gorgeous, it’s a humble yet powerful encouragement to everyone of us. did i mention you’re gonna love it?
