the country living fair

ya’ll. i have to tell you. i really hope two things. one, that the country living fair continues to come to atlanta. and two, that you can find a way to come. because it is awesome!

my girlfriend ashley & i have been making plans for months for her to come, stay with our family & then head around the corner….because it’s literally around the corner from our home…to the fair. we didn’t pony up the bigger bucks to roll in with the early birds but i could be easily persuaded to do that next year.

these are all just my phone photos. i’ll post images with my big girl camera of my purchases &  goodies soon.

bigger thrill than the fair was that savannah ended up coming home for the weekend :).  she & ashley are big buddies and thoroughly enjoy each other’s company too. what a treat it is when your children grow up and love your own friends. it’s just awesome. we had an absolutely wonderful weekend hanging out and loving on our college girl.

that is not a weird rash on my face but some reflection thing on that very cool, old mirror.i fell in love with this jacket. tried it on. savannah thought i was kidding. not a good sign when my shopping buddy can’t discern whether i’m serious or not about my fashion choice.  i couldn’t pass it up. it’s here. despite that fact that team knudsen, sans dan, are not fans. sigh…ran into some sweet friends. all sisters. aren’t they gorgeous? and one just so happened to be reppin noonday!i bought some antlers. ones without fur still attached. cute is she?ashley was not blowing through her cash as fast i was. i might have even said something along the lines of….”will you please buy something and quit acting like a man”….she caved. at the bitter end. i felt the need to document her first purchase. she & i both purchased canvases from this artist. i’ll share her name  & link on the next country living fair installment. i promise. you’ll love her.sibi, the fringe boots shot is for you baby.oh, here i am writing away & forgot i did take a few shots with my phone. ok, the above pillow is from the same canvas artist.  the dough bowl shown below is my FAVORITE score!  the vender was from Germany and his items were all from France and Hungary, etc. in an effort to buy less little bitty knick knacks, i’ve sorta joined the less, but larger, is more team. so this antigue very large , round ( hard to find this size) doughbowl from Hungary was quite a score for me.and finally here i am making a bold fashion statement and wearing “the” jacket to church!

friends along the coast and dealing with sandy, you are in my prayers…

bethanie henry - Oh my. I saw that dough bowl and commented on it!! I ran into you while you were deciding on which pillow to buy, I think I was so excited to see you that I kept on walking and didnt go back to buy one! I was eyeing the one with the state of GA on it. LOVE the jacket! There was a dress totally out of my comfort zone that I was very tempted to buy! Truly a fabulous weather day for the fair–such a fun memorable day! hugs 🙂

tara - okay…the guy Paul, who sold the dough bowls??? all three of my purchases were from him.

the things I regret not buying…one of those amazing grain sack purses ($165!!!!) and a piece of art from the cool canvas booth that you showed here!

I picked up a HUGE dough bowl for my friend Kourtney from Orlando….can you believe those things were only $98?? that’s amazing. 🙂

wish I could have seen you guys…looks like you had a great time!

October 30, 2012 - 8:10 am

tara - ps. love the jacket. seriously.

October 30, 2012 - 8:20 am

Alisa - Awwww… dear friend and I and our daughters (12 and 13!) were at the fair. It was delightful. I commented while we were enjoying some lunch that I had hoped to run into you! My favorite find was a bundle of vintage sheet fabric scrap quarters. My daughter scored a cute turquoise vintage typewriter that she has been longing for! She was delighted to meet Cari from Cash and Cari…. she is a big fan of her show. So much fun to get your recap and see your finds. Love the jacket. It’s so you!

October 30, 2012 - 8:27 am

Kerri - good morning paige! ok, can I just say how much sweet savannah looks like her mom? WOW! you can really can see the resemblance in these pics! I am going to have to start saving so I can make it to this fair! every year I see your pics and it looks amazing! are there any cities nearby with hotels? I can’t wait to see the rest of the pics! and the jacket looks adorable on you!

October 30, 2012 - 8:36 am

Ashley Johns - Ok Paige. Confession. When you posted on FB the pics of the jacket I will honestly say I couldn’t LOVE it. Not that I doubted you’d somehow pull it off, but I couldn’t see it as fabulous yet. So that pic of you wearing it to church totally proved it to me. I think its WAY better on you than on the display. And I am SO jealous of that awesome dough bowl. Wish I could’ve gone! Next year… sigh. 🙂
