my country living fair finds

i wanted to share with ya’ll a few of the things i purchased at this year’s country living fair. original post here.  i put ashley & savannah on lookout for some antlers, sans fur of course. one the ones i found had the cutest price tag on it, so in honor of christmas eve, the “24” will stay on for a little while.i didn’t purchase a piece of art from one of my most favorite booths/artists, jennifer lanne.  i had a budget that i was sticking with this year. i have a small 6×6 print and i have a 12×12 of the horse shown here. i’m hoping to save up and purchase a larger piece on my next purchase from her, just not this past week.  i wanted to show the little detail of the velvet trim on my print from last year though. love it!my big score that i was thrilled to find was a large doughbowl.  i have a primitive rectangular size that my antique collecting aunt & uncle gave me years ago-it’s huge. and awesome.  i nearly flipped when i saw this fantastic round shape and it’s light patina.  when i asked the dealer to tell me a little bit about it, he shared that he was from Germany.  his doughbowls were from antique shopping in France and Hungary. ok. sold.  you can’t get a great size perspective of mine. he had two. one was ginormous and really would be too much for my table, but this one is huge yet doesn’t overpower my table.

i sprayed my pine cones with gold & silver paint a couple years ago & that’s what’s currently hanging out in there.

the other booth that we had a big time in was that of texas artist, mary gregory. mary’s work is just beautiful!   i purchased a couple pillows and a 24×24 canvas. after heading over to link to her site, i’ve found a few more pieces i might need to add to my collection. i’m going to use my pillows out of my covered porch and trade them out seasonally.i picked up a few other small things here & there…& i’ve already shared about the jacket 😉

for those of you who asked about the little silver bowl filled with tiny marshmallows in this post, here’s the scoop-kraft mini’s, found at my local grocery store.

alrighty ya’ll, heading out to vote!

(ps, thank you for all the prayers and concerns about madison)

Peggy - I am new to you site but wanted to let you know how much I am enjoying going through back posts! How is your daughter? Poor thing! Sounds like life at our house with three active teenage boys…

Thank you so very much for sharing your mini-marshmallow secret! Now I’m off to see how my bread is rising and tidy up the kitchen before starting on dinner preparations. Have a wonderful day!

Tammie - Paige , I would love for you to give us a tour of your home, maybe decorated for the holidays. I know most homes are personal but I just can not help myself to wonder what all your rooms look like. Every time you post a picture of any of your rooms they look incredible. I just love the stuff you show in pictures, it goes together so well, I know you are a photographer but I have a hard time wondering if you are an interior designer also. HA. Love it.

Bethanie Henry - I wish I would have known you wanted antlers…my dad was SO excited to load me up when he heard that I wanted some!! Let me know if you want some more.(There are plenty where the ones I have came from!!) I have one pair that are special, because only my dad could tell you which were the antlers off his very first deer as a 12 year old boy…then give them to me.)

On another note…I found some adorable snowman shaped marshmallows. They are too cute in a huge mason jar on my hot chocolate “bar”.

Hope all is well with you and your sweet family!
